Leeds United have enjoyed a fine start to their season after Marcelo Bielsa made sweeping changes to the squad during the summer, one of which saw Eunan O’Kane leave on loan.
The midfielder was deemed to be surplus to requirements by Bielsa and joined League One newcomers Luton Town on loan but has since seen his chances of regular playing opportunities shattered by a huge injury blow.
Leeds confirmed on Sunday that O’Kane had broken his tibia and fibula during Luton’s narrow victory over Bristol Rovers at the weekend, stating that the 28-year-old would return to Yorkshire to continue his rehabilitation after being discharged from hospital.
O’Kane had featured four times for the Hatters since moving on Deadline Day in August, making three league appearances and also featuring in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy defeat to Doncaster, but is now faced with an extended period on the sidelines.
Fans on social media, along with some of O’Kane’s Leeds team-mates, expressed their support to the midfielder. We have gathered some of the best reactions below.
