Everton have announced the signing of a new player, but supporters are confused by the move.
The Merseyside outfit confirmed via their official Twitter page that they have signed Wolfsburg forward Anton Donkor on loan for the remainder of the season.
Interestingly, the 19-year-old will go directly into the Toffees’ Under-23 squad rather than compete for a place in Ronald Koeman’s first team.
The highly-rated German player was originally a target for Aston Villa, reports the Birmingham Mail, but he chose Everton after becoming aware of the club’s interest.

Donkor, who can play as a forward and a winger, is yet to make a first-team appearance for Wolfsburg but is under contract at the Bundesliga outfit until 2020, claims the Daily Star.
Everton have been busy in the winter transfer window, recruiting Morgan Schneiderlin and youngster Ademola Lookman, but fans are confused by the latest addition.
Plenty have taken to Twitter to express their bemusement, while others see it as a positive move.
