According to Sky Sports, Shinji Okazaki wants to leave Leicester City during this January transfer window due to the lack of game time he is currently getting with the Foxes.
What’s the word?
Okazaki has made thirteen appearances in the Premier League this season, though, he has been included in Claude Puel’s starting XI just once. So far, he has amassed only 169 minutes of game time in the league.
At 32-years-old, the attacker’s career is in danger of stagnating should he not get back to playing regularly soon. For the good of his own career then, Okazaki must seek a move away from the King Power Stadium during this January window.

Plenty of other English clubs would be wise to offer Okazaki a route back to regular football. Aston Villa, in particular, should make a move for the 116-cap Japan international.
A needed boost
Since joining Leicester in the summer of 2015, Okazaki has regularly shown his quality, and he played a key role in the Foxes’ shock Premier League title win of 2016. His creativity, work rate and tenacity made him a perfect foil for the prolific Jamie Vardy.
The Villans could do with such an injection of invention and energy into their own forward line. Yannick Bolasie has struggled to regularly create goalscoring chances for his teammates, and Okazaki’s versatility would allow him to compete for the Everton loanee’s place on the wing for Dean Smith’s side.
Bringing Okazaki to Villa Park would give the Midlands club the boost they need.
